Hi & Welcome!
I believe successful therapy begins with finding the right clinician for you; so here is a little bit about me:
I have recently relocated to Maine from Tennessee where I received my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Lipscomb University as well as a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I identify as a straight, cis gendered female and have a true passion for helping others. Outside of the office, I am an avid outdoors woman and traveler.
I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor-Conditional (LCPC-C), which means I am currently working towards full licensure and am under the supervision of a fully licensed professional here at Solstice Psychotherapy.
As an LCPC-C, I firmly believe in providing a safe place for all. I am a believer that you are the expert in all things you! Therefore, I aim to meet you where you are. To do this, I utilize an eclectic approach drawing on multiple counseling theories, such as Person-Centered and strengths-Based approaches to help identify current issues you wish to address in therapy and the strengths you possess to overcome and work through life’s problems. Additionally, I have been formally trained in and utilize Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Mindfulness, Narrative Therapy, and Trauma-informed Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (Tf-CBT).
I have experience working with and am open to working with adults, 18 years of age and older, addressing a variety of presenting problems such as surviving trauma, surviving sexual trauma, grief/loss, anxiety, depression, women’s issues, surviving domestic violence, self-esteem issues, and life transitions.
I look forward to discovering how I can best help you!
I can accept the following insurances: Anthem/BCBS, Community Health Options, MaineHealth (Aetna plans), Cigna/Evernorth and Martins Point Us Family Plan.
