If you’re ready for change, I’m ready to be with you through it. I am client-led and allow expansive space for growth and receptivity. I value humor, honesty, direct communication, and self-understanding. I value a deep personal connection formed by the therapeutic relationship and use our relationship as feedback to support the change you want to see. While I’m trained in many types of therapies to provide treatment unique to each client or client system, I gravitate to the deep internal work performed with Internal Family Systems, Emotion-focused, Experiential and Narrative therapies. I am a yoga teacher, iRest yoga nidra meditation teacher, and Reiki Level 1 Practitioner; I can use any of these techniques collaboratively for self-exploration and/or regulation during sessions.
A little about me and my background: I am a cisgender female, first-generation college student, former military spouse, and Army veteran. I have a bachelor's degree in Management of Aging Services from UMBC (2012) and a master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Northwestern University (2021). I served in the U.S. Army for 6 years and have since supported folks in various roles as a crisis counselor, sexual assault case manager, funeral director, end-of-life doula, and home funeral educator. I am now a conditionally-licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, working toward full licensure as an LMFT.
I have supported individuals, couples, and families therapeutically on a variety of issues including sexual trauma, depression, death/dying/grief, identity issues, premarital counseling, infidelity, relational ambivalence, life and family transitions, and marital conflict. The work I do with systems (i.e. 2 or more folks) is similar to that of working with one person: an exploration and greater understanding of the individual self so that you can better participate in relationships with others. The only difference is the intimate witnessing experienced by your loved ones of this inner work.
I am open to most adult (20+) individuals and various systems including, but not at all limited to, adult siblings, caregivers and adult children, queer relationships (mixed-orientation, consensually non-monogamous, etc.), military couples, and families in late life.
I can accept the following insurances: Community Health Options, Anthem BC/BS, Cigna/Evernorth and Martins Point US Family Plan.
