If you’ve gotten this far in your scroll or search for healing, welcome. I am deeply impressed by you and your heart already; I know first hand how equally exciting and terrifying the experience of seeking therapy is. Breathe deeply and trust that you are safe here.
As a licensed therapist and registered yoga teacher, my passion often lies in linking the two. This does not mean that therapy sessions will consist of downward facing dogs, sun salutations or meditations. Instead, it simply implies my belief that our most challenging stressors, most feared traumas and most repressed emotions take up vacancy within our own four walls, and can often lead us to feel that we are prisoners of our own lives versus feeling empowered to live them in a meaningful way. Mindfulness, breath work and yoga are tools I often attempt to weave into my practice, but only with the permission of those whom I am working with.
I hold a Bachelors of Social Work (BSW) from Castleton University (2017) and a Masters in Social Work (MSW) from the University of New England (2021). In addition, I received my 200 hour Registered Yoga Teacher certification from Well Heart Yoga in 2020. I am certified in trauma-informed care, and have received extensive training in TC-TSY (Trauma Center Trauma Sensitive Yoga); an empirically validated, clinical intervention for complex trauma or chronic, treatment-resistant post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Through my journey in social work I have had the privilege of working with an array of populations ranging from gang-affiliated, inner city youth in the San Francisco Bay area, to pregnant and parenting mothers experiencing homelessness, and most recently, extensive work with humans who are incarcerated and experiencing severe and persistent mental illness. As a therapist, I honor the resiliency of each client I work with, and thoroughly enjoy working with humans of all backgrounds. Your heart, your bravery and your story truly matter to me.
We are all the experts of our own healing journeys, and it is an honor to potentially support you in yours. As a trauma-informed therapist, I believe the relationships I have with my clients are the most crucial tool for their healing. Your safety, comfort and trust are of my utmost priority, and I work diligently to foster a space that feels warm, welcoming and is laced in kindness and radical acceptance of the self. I believe in you and your ability to heal the wounds that frighten you the most.
Three mantras I practice with clients regularly are what I shall leave you with.. Repeat after me:
I am safe.
I am cared for.
I am always enough.
I am able to accept Anthem, Community Health Options, Aetna MaineHealth plans, Martins Point US Family Plan, and negotiable self-pay clients.
